Ten: The Things We Leave Behind

The Things We Leave Behind

What are things we should leave behind?

A very busy week indeed and I still have no idea on what is the exact response for this week’s challenge, but the first thing that I thought of was memories, pictures and videos, and education I guess? But after attending my uncle’s birthday party and to be able to hear a very inspirational monologue from him I realized that the best thing that you can probably leave behind were lessons, advices, teachings and inspirations. If you will ask me why, the answer is that being an inspiration to others was indescribable, it gives you a different worth of living, it gives you confidence to help other people by giving them advices and somewhat ease the pain within them, and that is the reason why I think that being able to share advices and being an inspiration are things that are worthy to leave behind.

I listed three points that can further make a difference and make the most memorable lesson that you can leave to others  behind

Be supportive!

Being supportive in a way that you can help them to gain a certainty about their strength and to achieve their optimum success in their own path. That’s the best thing you can do for your loved ones, your friends and all the people around you. Be optimistic, help them to conquer their fears, help them to build their own self-confidence, believe in them and appreciate all the things that they do and lastly help them to become a better person, as Sabrina Bryan said “You can do anything as long as you have the passion, the drive, the focus, and the support.”

Share your experiences

Impart the lessons you’ve learnt from the great episode of your existence. Tell them your own stories, the way you defeated your greatest fear, that moment when you stood up for your own right and the solace of being able represent as a role model to other people. Sometimes you just need to initiate the conversation to make them a little bit comfortable and for them to open up with their own testimony. “Life is about creating and living experiences that are worth sharing.” Thanks Steve Jobs for this quote.

Try to be a better person everyday

This is the deal, try to maximize your strengths, learn from your mistakes, don’t forget to share your blessings to others, remember even the smallest things can make a great difference, try to change the things that isn’t helping you to grow and ponder the qualities that will make you a great role model for others. Again guys try to be a little friendly, try to always say thank you, put that smile on girl! (or boy incase ha-ha-ha) and lastly always give gratitude to the Lord. “If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. It’s how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.” – William J. Clinton

Leaving something behind is not about the vast amount of material things that the people around you will inherit, it’s not the things that you bought for them, but the most worthy things that you can leave behind were the experiences and lessons you imparted to them, the way you became an inspiration and a tangible representation of how a single person  can share a simple thought that can make a huge difference to people on how they perceive their present, future and even their past
